www_web1.gifI didn’t plan to include this one but I was surprised to learn that 3 people I thought were reasonably skilled with computers weren’t aware of this pair of time saving shortcuts. Most people simply highlight the text they want, then right click what they’ve highlighted and choose copy and then paste the text where they want. There’s some frustration potential in that method resulting from accidentally clicking the wrong option in the resulting drop-down menu or accidentally clicking off the menu entirely to some other place on the page and inadvertently deselecting all the text that was highlighted. To avoid those headaches, bypass the drop-down menu option entirely! To copy, just highlight the text as you ordinarily would and then hold down the Control button (Ctrl) and press C (this is often shown as Ctrl-C). To paste, place the cursor where you want to put the text you copied and hold down Control, then hit V (shown as Ctrl-V). The method is a fast and easy solution all performed with the left hand. With a little practice, you won’t believe you ever bothered with drop menus!
